Oxford, November 6. The BMW WilliamsF1 Team today confirmed that
Giorgio Pantano and Vitantonio Liuzzi would conduct testing duties
for the team at the forthcoming Valencia test, commencing on November
26. Both drivers will share three days of testing responsibilities.
Giorgio Pantano, the 23 year old driver from Padova, Italy, was
the runner up in the FIA International Formula 3000 Championship
in 2002 with Coloni. Prior to this, he served an impressive apprenticeship
including claiming the German F3 title in 2000, together with a
string of national, European and world kart titles. Pantano will
be joined by fellow countryman, 21 year old Antonio Liuzzi, who
completed a strong season in the German F3 Championship with Team
Red Bull BSR, after finishing runner-up in the 2001 German Formula
Renault Championship, as well as claiming the FIA/CIK Karting World
title in the same year. The test of both drivers forms part of the
BMW WilliamsF1 Team's ongoing commitment to developing young talent.
