Zip Formula Championship

Brask Management ace Mike Spencer signed off his Zip Formula season in fine style at Brands Hatch on Sunday.

The final round formed part of the annual Formula Ford Festival and World Cup at the former British Granf Prix venue. Spencer, who has already won this year's championship and secured the prize of a drive in next year's Formula Renault Championship, was once again at the front of the field.

In qualifying he set a blistering pace to top the sheets and bag pole position ahead of the more experienced racer Edward Redfern. It was Redfern who took the win with Spencer taking the runner up slot.

This has been a remarkable season for Spencer who finished every race in the championship and has finished no lower than second place on the road. If this smacks of Schumacher/Ferrari dominance then consider that all the cars in Zip Formula are the same specification. Mike is also in his first full season of car racing!
