Allan Simonsen has been with sports car ace Tom Kristensen and
a group of the other top talent from Danish motorsport in a karting
event at La Santa in Spain. Like last year where Jesper Carlsen
and Lars-Christian Brask won the FunWorld 24 hours Le Mans Challenge,
this provided the first win of the season for a Team Brask driver.
The year's first big race, the legendary Mini Le Mans, took place
at Lanzarote's Go-Kart circuit. In qualifying the youngest driver
present, Christoffer Nygaard, took a superb pole position. After
funny and formidable duels/combats plus several exciting pitstops
Allan Simonsen and Jacob Gejl won the 119 lap 'Lava-Polka'. The
spoils of victory included a deserved round of applause and the
traditional champagne which was sprayed in surprisingly mature fashion
at their battle rivals.
The team also got to compete in a Squash tournament where the
talented ball player Michel Mykjær won by a narrow margin over Allan
Simonsen.
