Hot on the heels of the announcement that he has won the Autosprint
'Italian International Driver of the Year award', Giorgio Pantano
was back in action this week in the Formula 3000 testing at Barcelona.
Giorgio was fastest in the second session of Wednesday's schedule
and fourth overall. The second session was held in slower conditions
but Giorgio had clearly got to grips with both the car and the circuit
to post a time seventh tenths of a second quicker than the second
fastest runner, Brask Management colleague Alex Müller.
Brask Management Chairman Lars-Christian Brask commented: "We have
made no announcement for where Giorgio drives for 2002, but it was
interesting to say the least to see how professionally Super Nova
operated. We have always had high hopes for Giorgio and nothing
has dented our belief in his potential. Today just confirmed again
that we are right in our fundamental belief in his talent."
