Mike Spencer continued to impress in his induction into car racing
in this weekend's Zip Formula action at Brands Hatch. There were
also good performances from Lars-Christian Brask, Ryan Lewis and
Mark Flitton.
Mike Spencer turned 19 years of age last week and celebrated in
fine style at Brands by taking second place in the Zip Formula final.
This was Mike's second podium finish in four races and underlines
his potential as future star. He qualified 11th for the first race
with Team Brask colleagues Ryan Lewis, Lars-Christian Brask and
Mark Flitton 13th, 17th and 19th respectively.
In the first race all the drivers gained positions from their starting
slots. Mike sliced through the traffic to finish fifth whilst Ryan
Lewis, gaining more single seater experience after a season in T-Car
Saloon racing took 9th. Lars-Christian Brask took 14th place with
Mark Flitton just behind in 15th.
In the second race Mike Spencer gained more places to take second
place and clearly demonstrated that his first car racing win is
not going to be far away once the 2002 season is underway. There's
no doubt he will feel that the Winter break will be much too long!
Ryan Lewis took 12th place whilst Lars-Christian Brask and Mark
Flitton held on to their respective 14th and 15th places.
