Brask Management ace Mike Spencer scored an impressive third place
in his car racing debut at Brands Hatch this weekend. Spencer, who
has now retired from kart racing qualified fourth for the first
round of the Winter Zip Formula Championship on the famous Indy
Circuit in Kent.

Team Brask Chairman Lars-Christian Brask was also back behind the
wheel for the first time this season having been out of competition
due to business commitments. Lars-Christian qualified17th in a field
of very talented youngsters which also included seventeen year old
T-Car graduate Ryan Lewis. Ryan impressed onlookers with 11th place
in qualifying for his first single seater race whilst Mark Flitton
lined up 18th.
Mike Spencer showed that his karting race expertise was entirely
relevant to circuit racing and he climbed up from fourth to third
in the race - a podium position on his car racing debut! Ryan Lewis
has learned all about overtaking in T-Cars this season and he shot
through from his 11th place start into 7th at the flag. Lars-Christian
was happy to be back in action again and took 15th place whilst
Mark Flitton failed to finish.
In the second race Mike Spencer slid wide and down the order after
mounting a challenge for the lead at the notorious Paddock Hill
bend. He recovered to finish eighth. Lars Christian again took 15th
place with Mark Flitton classified in 17th. Ryan Lewis retired -
also after an off at Paddock whilst running in an impressive fifth
place. Ryan also competed in his T-car for the Winter Saloon Car
series. He started 29th as a reserve and carved his way through
the field up to 12th place before and errant Mini collected him
at Clearways on the last lap.
The Zip Formula Winter Championship concludes at Brands Hatch on
Sunday 25th November.
