Rumours have been circulating (see quote from last week's
Motoring News) that Den Blå Avis, Dome, Goh and Team Brask with
John Nielsen heading the effort were working together for a Le Mans
2001 assult. Today John told team boss Lars-Christian Brask that
Karsten Ree (DBA) wants to go his own way and establish a workshop
in Southern England for the project. "We have had long and serious
discussions, but Karsten Ree wants to do it on his own and we can't
compete with that" commented Lars-Christian. "There are
no hard feelings from our part, it actually would have limited other
projects that we are working on at the moment".
From Motoring News, 03 January 2001:
Lars-Christian Brask is poised to join the Danish sports car
venture backed by Karsten Ree and his Den Blå Avis publishing group,
with John Nielsen as leading driver.
The choice of car is still open, according to Nielsen, and it will
not necessarily be a Panoz. "Karsten and Lars-Christian have
asked me to look at all the options" says the Dane. "It
could be a Panoz, or a Dome, a Lola or a Reynard. We are talking
to everyone to see what will make the best package for next season."
